GAINESVILLE, FL. (EEF News) Access to and affording a college education remains uneven. Florida is ranked 48 out of 50 for students completing the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The American School Counselor Association recommends a student to guidance counselor ratio of 250:1. In Florida, the ratio is 431:1. The Education Equalizer Foundation (EEF) has taken a remarkable step towards bridging these gaps. By providing comprehensive educational resources, mentorship, and exposure to various career opportunities, EEF’s College PASS program is the gateway program to become an Education Equalizer Scholar. Broadening Horizons
One of the key highlights of the College PASS program was the exposure it provided to participants. The students’ journeys expanded as they toured Santa Fe College, gaining valuable insights into the Achieve scholarship program. Additionally, they had the privilege of engaging with industry experts from various fields, including education, healthcare, business ownership, dentistry, and law.

Nurturing Lifelong Mentorship
The support and guidance didn’t end with the completion of the program. EEF is determined to nurture lifelong relationships with its students, recognizing that mentorship is a crucial aspect of personal growth and development. Monthly 1:1 calls with parents and students will provide ongoing assistance, helping scholars navigate their academic and professional journeys effectively. Moreover, networking opportunities, job shadowing experiences, college tours, and ACT/SAT preparation will ensure that participants are well-prepared for their future endeavors.

Call for Support and Involvement
As the Education Equalizer Foundation continues to flourish, it calls upon the community to lend a helping hand. Supporting these bright scholars can take various forms, ranging from sharing volunteer opportunities to offering scholarships. By contributing to the foundation, you can help them continue to offer their valuable services to more students in need. With a $19.00 a month donation, you can make a significant impact on shaping the future of these young minds.
Looking Ahead
With the College PASS program’s resounding success, the Education Equalizer Foundation is gearing up for continued growth. To cater to the increasing number of students seeking their support, the foundation is projected to hire staff at the beginning of the next fiscal year. This opens the door for more individuals and organizations to get involved and contribute to the noble cause of empowering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers. As the foundation anticipates further growth and success, the call to action is clear – support, volunteer, and contribute to the Education Equalizer Foundation, and help pave the way for a brighter future for our communities and society as a whole.
