Last summer, I had the opportunity to participate in the college prep program. It was very informative. Now - Friday, May 26, 2023: We are recruiting. The College Prep 101 program is now CPASS. The application deadline is May 26, 2023. We are recruiting 20 rising juniors and seniors for College Prep 101.
Now and ongoing: Register for an upcoming virtual workshop to provide you with ACT test-taking strategies and help you afford college here.
Saturday, April 29, 2023: Celebrate CP 101 Class of 2023. Join us for the Million Dollar Scholar Brunch at 11a. Details here.
Thursday, July 6, 2023: Save the Date! College PASS Virtual Parents, Panelists, and Students Orientation. We sent you a calendar invite.
Fridays on July 7, 14, 21, and 28: Meet for College Prep 101 at Project Youthbuild. The hours are 9:30-2:30p, and breakfast and lunch are included.
After Summer College Prep 101: Continued assistance 1:1 and some group work to complete college and scholarship applications, campus tours, and social activities.
Saturday, April 26, 2024: Celebrate the Class of 2024. Join us for the Million Dollar Scholar Brunch at 11a.
College PASS FAQs
How much does College PASS cost?
The summer college prep 101 is grant sponsored. Your registration includes college prep lessons, course materials, lunch, light breakfast, snacks, and access to a network of business professionals. However, there are some ad-hoc programs ie college tours, ACT/SAT prep, essay writing assistance etc that may incur small fees.
Who can apply to College PASS?
Any rising high school junior or senior who is able to attend all four in-person summer sessions and is interested in attending college can apply to College PASS. Students will also need to attend a few follow up virtual and in-person sessions throughout the year.
Where is College PASS located?
The summer program meets at Project Youthbuild 635 NW 6th St, Gainesville, FL 32601. The other events are at the locations of the colleges, businesses or online via zoom virtual classroom.
Where can I access the College Pass parent and student handbook?
Here is the College Prep 101 parent and student handbook from last year. We will provide you with an updated copy at your orientation.
Will The Education Equalizer Foundation continue to help students after College Pass 101
Yes, this is our entry program to becoming an Education Equalizer Scholar. We continue to assist you to help you get 'to and through' college.
Can I help recruit for College PASS?
Yes, we are enrolling 20 scholars. They should apply to get accepted into the program. Here is the application.
