GAINESVILLE, FL. (EEF News) The Education Equalizer Foundation, an organization dedicated to preparing students for college, is proud to announce that Mauriana Garner has joined its Board of Directors. Mauriana, class of 2023, has been accepted into several prestigious universities, including Bethune Cookman University, Edward Waters University, Tennessee State University, Tougaloo College, Florida Memorial University, and Shaw University. However, she has decided to attend Tallahassee Community College on a full-ride Bright Future Scholarship and then transfer to Florida State University, where she plans to become a nurse practitioner.
Mauriana’s acceptance into multiple universities is a testament to her hard work and dedication. Still, it’s also a testament to the impact of organizations such as The Education Equalizer Foundation, which has provided her with the support and resources necessary to achieve her dreams.
Mauriana is a member of the first cohort of students who completed The Education Equalizer College Prep program. This program is designed to demystify the college-going experience for students and parents by providing them with academic resources, mentorship, and financial aid. Mauriana’s acceptance into multiple universities proves this program’s effectiveness.
“I want to give a big shout-out to Dr. Carjie Scott and The Education Equalizer Foundation for making this happen,” says Mauriana. “Without their support, I wouldn’t have achieved this level of success. I’m excited to join the Board of Directors and work with the Foundation to provide opportunities for other students.”
Dr. Carjie Scott, the founder of The Education Equalizer Foundation, expressed her excitement about Mauriana’s success and her decision to join the Board of Directors. “We want to empower our children to become leaders,” says Dr. Scott. “Mauriana is an excellent example of what is possible when we provide our children with the support and resources they need to succeed.”
The Education Equalizer Foundation is committed to creating a more equitable society by providing students with the education and resources they need to achieve their dreams. Adding Mauriana Garner to the Board of Directors is important in achieving this goal. Her success and dedication to the Foundation’s mission serve as an inspiration to other students and a reminder of the importance of providing access to education to all. Congratulations, Mauriana, on your success, and welcome to the Board of Directors!
The Education Equalizer Foundation works with middle through high school students and their families to demystify the college admittance process and provide scholars with the necessary tools to graduate.
