GAINESVILLE, FL. (EEF News) – Sponsored by the Walmart Foundation, the Education Equalizer Foundation hosts monthly virtual FAFSA workshops to prepare more students for college and afford college. According to the Florida College Access Network, 58% of students from Florida completed the FAFSA in 2019-20, and compared with the other states, Florida is ranked 48 of 50. “This is staggering data; when we learned about this, we worked with other organizations to solve it,” said Dr. Kerwin Scott, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder. He continued, “Someone helped me understand the college-going process; therefore, I have to help others.”
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available now. Students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible because money is issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The Education Equalizer Foundation hosts monthly workshops virtually to assist students with completing the FAFSA. Register for an upcoming workshop here.
