GAINESVILLE, FL. (EEF News) – Chanae Jackson, Education Equalizer Board Member, has earned the 2023 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Hall of Fame Award for her unselfish commitment to education, healthcare, and racial and social injustice in Gainesville/Alachua County.
Chanae Jackson was born and raised here in Gainesville, Florida. She was a curious child and avid reader who loved history. Chanae was a gifted student that attended elementary school at what is currently known as Carolyn Beatrice Parker Elementary, Westwood Middle, and Eastside High and eventually attained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Leo University.
Chanae is a passionate social justice community activist, servant leader, strategist, entrepreneur, and published author. Her commitment to high ethical standards, frontline bravery, collaborative community engagement efforts, and proven record make her a trusted resource and catalyst for change. Chanae earned the title of The Accidental Activist in 2018 after consistently sounding the injustice alarm and speaking truth to power despite the consequences.
Please join us in celebrating Ms. Jackson for the work she does in our community and for The Education Equalizer Foundation and attend The MLK Jr. Commission of Florida’s 38th Hall of Fame Gala on Sunday, January 8th at 5:30 p.m. reception and 6:30 p.m. start at Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel, 4200 NW 97th Blvd.
Then, on Monday, January 9, Chanae Jackson will be enshrined in the King Commission’s Hall of Fame at 11 a.m. at the MLK Memorial Gardens, 200 E. University Ave. in downtown Gainesville.
