GAINESVILLE, FL (EEF News) We are proud to announce that our Co-Founder, Dr. Kerwin Scott, will serve as the guest speaker during the IAMSTEM camp Culmination Ceremony at Howard Bishop Middle School in Gainesville Florida on Thursday, July 18 from 6 to 7:30p. Dr. Scott is a periodontist and owner of Clermont Periodontics and Implant Center. He will share his inspiring journey and dedication to education and health. His speech is expected to motivate and empower the young STEM students, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and passion in their educational and career pursuits.
The ceremony will honor the talented students from the summer IAMSTEM camp at Caring and Sharing Learning School. These students have shown remarkable dedication to their STEM projects, and their achievements will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event will highlight the importance of providing opportunities and support for young learners in STEM fields.
In partnership with IAmSTEM, Caring and Sharing Learning School, Greater Bethel AME Church, and the City of Gainesville, the event will also offer valuable resources for families. A FAFSA representative will be available to answer questions and assist with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. This initiative aims to ensure that families are well-prepared for their children’s higher education journey.
To encourage FAFSA completion, students who show their FAFSA confirmation page at the event will be entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 prize. This incentive aims to motivate students and families to take this crucial step towards securing financial aid for college.
