College PASS IV: A New Generation of Future Healthcare Leaders Begins Here

Gainesville, FL (EEF News)—When the world calls for more diverse voices in healthcare, The Education Equalizer Foundation is answering back—with a bold new cohort of scholars ready to rise.

This summer, the 2025–2026 College PASS Scholars program launches with renewed purpose: not only to help students gain college access, but to guide them into life-saving careers in healthcare through hands-on experiences, skill-building, and powerful exposure to opportunity.

“We’re not just preparing students to get into college—we’re preparing them to lead,” says Dr. Carjie Scott, Founder of The Education Equalizer Foundation. “This year, that means training scholars who can one day save lives.”

From the Classroom to the Clinic: A Healthcare Focus with Real Impact

This year’s cohort will embark on a unique journey that blends college readiness with healthcare career exploration. Through certification programs like CPR training and “Stop the Bleed” trauma response workshops, scholars will gain valuable credentials that can be used now, long before graduation.

These aren’t just resume builders—they’re life-saving skills.

From understanding emergency care to learning about nursing, dentistry, and public health, students will be introduced to the broad spectrum of careers available in the medical field. Each lesson is designed to spark purpose, build self-confidence, and open doors to higher education and meaningful work.

“Prepare. Access. Succeed.” It Starts With a Single Step.

To join this life-changing experience, scholars must first complete a required interest form. This helps the Foundation tailor programming to each student and meet reporting requirements for grant funding. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 31. Late submissions will be placed on a waitlist and considered based on availability.

A Calendar Full of Purpose

The program officially kicks off on Thursday, July 10, with a virtual Parent & Scholar Orientation from 7:00 PM—8:00 PM EST. From there, students will meet virtually every Friday in July (11, 18, and 25) from 10:00 AM—12:30 PM for engaging, interactive workshops.

A mock ACT/SAT testing session will take place on July 22 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This session will simulate real testing conditions to boost students’ confidence and strategy.

Monthly virtual check-ins begin in the fall, and meetings are on the first Wednesday of September, October, February, and March from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM EST to ensure students stay on track.

In-person experiences include college tours to Florida A&M UniversitySanta Fe College, and the University of Florida, plus a visit to the NACAC National College Fair. Dates for these immersive experiences will be announced soon.

The journey will culminate in one of the Foundation’s proudest moments: the Million Dollar Scholar Brunch on April 18, 2026, at which scholars will be honored for their achievements and the scholarships they’ve earned.

More Than a Program—A Movement

Behind every session, every certification, every tour, and every test prep lies a deeper mission: to help scholars unlock the power within them.

Through the College PASS program, students aren’t just learning how to get into college—they’re learning how to advocate for themselves, build community, and carve out careers in sectors where their presence can change outcomes.

This is how we create equalizers.
This is how we build leaders.
This is how we save lives—one scholar at a time.
