Fellow Education Equalizer,
It’s Dr. Carjie Scott with an invitation to set a reminder in your phone to ride with The Education Equalizer Foundation on Thursday, August 17 for National Nonprofit Day. It’s an important day not just for me personally but for over one-hundred middle through high school students that we have served in just the past 21 months. Here’s the deal. It costs money to serve students. And, we need your help to provide assistance to our families as they prepare for college. For the price of about a half a tank of gas, $19.00, you can help us keep going! Listed below are some of the projects we are currently working on. Your money will support these initiatives.
- College PASS Program – We are working with twenty high school junior and senior mentees enrolled at Alachua County Schools who are interested in attending HBCUs, state colleges, trade schools, and community colleges. We don’t just help them get accepted, we give them to tools to help them graduate.
- ONOP Oratorical Competition – There are eight students aged twelve to eighteen years old that will compete in an Oratorical competition on Saturday, August 26 at Greater Bethel AME Church at 11a. Our talented kids will share their stories of how gun violence has affected them. We would like all of them to win cash prizes for their submissions.
- ACT/SAT Prep – Each month, we host virtual ACT/SAT preparation workshops because we understand the need for tutoring. We also recognize that these workshops can help students increase their test scores which can help them gain admittance to college with scholarships.
Please don’t let our car get stuck on the side of the road. Chip in a half a gallon of gas, for just $19.00 per month. And, tell a friend to tell a friend. We are counting on you to keep the momentum going.
